QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked by New Volunteers

Still unsure about something? Reply to any confirmation email and our team will be glad

to help.

Do I need prior museum or education experience?

No. Every role includes a short walkthrough before your first shift, and an

experienced volunteer or staff member is always nearby if you have questions.

Is there a minimum time commitment?

No. Some volunteers help with a single event; others come back every week. Pick

whatever fits your schedule — there’s no obligation to return.

Can I volunteer with a friend, family, or group?

Yes, and we encourage it. Note in the sign-up form who you’d like to be scheduled

with and we’ll do our best to keep your shifts together.

Are there age requirements?

Volunteers 14 and up are welcome on their own. Younger children are welcome

alongside a parent or guardian for family-friendly shifts.

What if I need to cancel or change a shift?

Just reply to your confirmation email. We’ll move you to a different time or open

the spot back up — no explanation needed.
